About Abraham Pierson School

Abraham Pierson School closed its doors on its last day, June 12, 2019. Serving generations of students and the Clinton community, it will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Abraham Pierson School was a public upper-elementary school nestled in the historic district of Clinton, CT. Pierson served fourth and fifth grade students providing them an “educational bridge” between primary and middle school. The upper elementary experience was designed to support students who were transitioning from a “learning to read” to a “reading to learn” model.  Here, a strong and viable curriculum, delivered by highly qualified teachers versed in research-based instructional strategies, provided a personalized and data driven learning plan for each student. Through a partnership with families and the community, it was the goal of Pierson School to help students develop critical creative thinking skills and the values of respect and responsibility that supported them as learners in a diverse and dynamic world and prepared them for the next steps in their educational journey.
